Kay Ehlinger

I have been a resident of Seven Devils since 1973,
full-time since 1989. My family and I moved here from Chattanooga
TN and have never looked back, except for family and friends. We
used to come up to "The Mountains" for long weekends
and family vacations. Leaving to head back to Tennessee became
harder and harder, so we finally just picked up and moved to "The
Mountains"!
One of the things about Seven Devils that attracted us was the
laid-back atmosphere and sense of a small-town community in a non-commercialized
and natural setting. My son and daughter attended the public schools,
which are very well rated in the state, and graduated from Appalachian
State University in Boone. I still wake most mornings and look
out at the view, take a deep breath and say it doesn't get much
better than this! We are very lucky that the Town of Seven Devils
is still committed to preserving the naturalness of "The Mountain".
We are a small but growing community, so we do have to remain focused
on our vision for our town and keeping our surroundings natural
for our future residents as well. Seven Devils is also a resort
area with snow skiing in the winter and golf in the summer, at
Hawksnest Golf and Ski Resort located at the top of our mountain.
I have had the honor of being on the Town Coucil since January
2004. I have found that working with the other Council members,
who love this Town as much as I do, is a labor of love. Please
free to e-mail me with any questions you might have about Seven
Devils. I would be happy to help and tell you how wonderful the
Town of Seven Devils is! |
